Founded by a Hong Kong-trained chef who brought authentic Cantonese dumpling culture to the Old Town in 2024, Dumpling Queen X Dai Jou Bu produces handmade dumplings, xiao long bao, and dim sum that consistently outperform every other venue in the city on flavour, technique, and consistency.
The restaurant is also the originator of the Haggis Dumpling — a genuinely considered Scottish-Cantonese fusion that has become one of Edinburgh’s most distinctive food experiences. Every dish is made fresh to order using natural, sustainable packaging. The gallery dining room, decorated with original oil paintings by the owner, has a warmth and personality rarely found in Edinburgh’s restaurant scene.
